Med Student Support

Dr. Mandy Rice serves as a dedicated clinical preceptor for Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Medicine (LMU-DCOM), where third- and fourth-year medical students complete their required surgery rotations and elective experiences through her private General Surgery practice (Direct Surgical Care of Hot Springs) and Direct Integrative Health women’s midlife health clinic in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She deeply enjoys guiding these students across her various clinical sites, often extending the learning opportunities by inviting them to join her on service at the Level I Trauma Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during her weekend shifts. These immersive rotations have consistently sparked a genuine passion for surgical learning among her students, with many expressing renewed interest in pursuing careers in surgery. Dr. Rice is particularly committed to the power of mentorship, recognizing that these formative relationships are essential for the psychological well-being, confidence, and academic growth of impressionable medical students as they navigate the demanding path toward becoming skilled physicians.
